In Galicia and NW Spain, reducing herbicide dependency while maintaining weed control is a significant challenge due to the region’s Atlantic climate and high yearly sunlight, which leads to high biomass production. The use of drone-based multispectral imagery provides detailed and high-resolution weed mapping, offering farmers the possibility to identify weed patches early in the season and apply herbicides only where needed. This approach supports precision agriculture practices that are more efficient and environmentally friendly.
