There are several advantages of using drones for site specific spraying. These include not only their ability to collect images for site specific spraying, but also the use of drones for the spraying itself. Apart from allowing for a reduction in the use of herbicides, the practice is also potentially beneficial for yields, soil health, and occupational health since human exposure to pesticides is minimised. However, as the legislation is not yet in place, the products are not currently on the market in Europe. However, in other parts of the world, spraying using drones is already a well-established practice. Spraydrone is aligning to the specifications set up by FOCA in Switzerland for allowing spraying using drones, and EU-regulations are expected to be similar to these.
