Innovative Herbicide Application at Aberbran Fawr Farm
ADAS hosted an event on the latest technological development on precision application of herbicide for late-stage weeding.
The event took place at Matthews Fruit on Aberbran Fawr Farm, a pick-your-own soft fruit and pumpkin farm in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The demo day was a great success, offering valuable insights into effective weed control methods and fostering a collaborative environment for local farmers. Oper8 plans to link up with farmers groups in Wales next year for more demo days.
Engaged audience at the Groundswell farming festival
ADAS and the Organic Research Centre ran a session at Groundswell farming festival, which was part of the wider programme of demonstration days within the Oper8 project.
The subject was on cultural controls for ‘Managing Black Grass in Arable Rotations’. The session was well attended with around 300 people joining us for what turned out to be an informative session that generated a host of excellent questions from a very engaged audience.

A sunny day in the beginning of September, exhibitors came together to demonstrate techniques in the field at the Potato and horticultural field day in Borgeby, Sweden. Oper8 was represented during the fair
