On June 25th, a demonstration event was held as part of the Oper8 project, organized by the team from the University of Pisa (UNIPI), focusing on the use of the SPIDER ILD02 mower for weed control in vineyards.
This radio-controlled machine is designed for mowing in challenging conditions, both on steep slopes and flat terrain. The event took place at Podere Tomasino, owned by Del Debbio SpA, in Pieve Santo Stefano (Lucca).
During the event, UNIPI researchers first presented the technical features of the machine. This was followed by a company technician sharing their direct experience with the equipment. A representative from Bruni, the Italian distributor of the SPIDER ILD02, then outlined current market trends, highlighting the ongoing improvements of these machines thanks to the integration of autonomous navigation systems.
The event concluded with a field demonstration, where the machine was shown in action for weed control in the vineyard inter-row.
