Companion crops sown together with rape seeds can be efficient in controlling weeds in organic winter rape seeds. In an on-farm trial in west Sweden, a mixture of species has been sown at the same time as the rape seeds. In another on-farm trial, faba beans have been sown as companion crop and this has been combined with inter row-hoeing to reduce the weed burden.
