Including strong competitors in crop rotation is a well-established practice in integrated weed management. Incorporating grassland and clover can effectively reduce populations of certain weed species. Weed surveys conducted in Latvia indicate that integrating grassland into crop rotations can decrease the prevalence of noxious weeds, such as wild oat.
