Bioherbicides, derived from natural substances, offer an environmentally friendly alternative for weed control. While not yet authorised in organic farming in France, they present a promising solution for both organic and conventional viticulture. Conventional farmers view bioherbicides as a complementary approach due to increasing restrictions on chemical herbicides and the rise of resistant weed populations. In viticulture, a product based on pelargonic acid has been tested but is not yet approved for organic use.
